Day 1....off the couch, out of the kitchen....time to write!

First let me say thanks for checking out my blog! I'm new to this and will be learning as I go....A little bit about me...I'm 29 years old, live in southern California so I enjoy the best of both worlds....summer beaches and winter mountains!  I've been baking since I was 14 years old.  I started out with making cooking for my dad....Ranger cookies.....a basic chocolate chip cookie, with oatmeal, raisins and walnuts. He would almost eat the entire batch in one sitting! From that I started to bake all the cookies that my family wanted....they were your usual suspects.....chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, peanut butter...ect....it wasnt until years later i started making cupcakes and cakes which im finding a great passion for. I've learned a couple things here and there from a couple classes, some books, and youtube. But Im mostly a trial and error kinda gal! some weeks more error then anything! lol!  Since the beginning of the year I've been focused on finding new recipes and perfecting them.  Baking is a challenge because sometimes no matter how well you follow that recipe, it just goes wrong!! It can wear on you when you make 3 bad batches or it didnt come out as good as you thought it would! The thing that keeps me doing it, is when you bake that perfect cupcake.....icing just perfect on top....you look through the batch to pick out the most perfect one.....and take that first bite....ahhhhhh!!!! Its the most rewarding part of my day!! I also love peoples reactions when they try whatever I've baked that day.....and that....is what makes me do what i do....day after day....cake after cake...bite by bite! My goal of this blog is to share a little of me, make and write about my cakes and creations....post some pix and swap some ideas, thoughts and recipes.....feel free to share any links you like that i should be knowing about!!! Now.....time to bake!
